What’s been happening:

I have worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry for 5 years now with 4 years of those years in my current position as a Forester. I work in the Buchanan State Forest (District 2), which is comprised of Bedford, Fulton, and west Franklin Counties. My duties include timber management, motorized and non-montorized recreation, leased campsites, forest fire suppression, road use agreements, right of ways, antenna sites, and gaswells and pipelines. I also fight fire out of state as part of the PA Specialized Crew program. I have been on fires in Idaho(2), Montana, and California. On the personal end, I was recently married in August 2008 and reside in Needmore, PA where we are currently renting a house but are looking to buy. My wife Amanda is a Life Skills Teacher at Southern Fulton High School. Hunting is still my main hobby. Hunting spring gobbler and deer with a bow, rifle, and muzzleloader in the fall and winter are some of my favorite PA seasons. I also have been hunting elk in Colorado and deer in Maine on several occasions. Steve Keiper Forest Science (2004)
